Brief synopsis:

To explore the Pandora’s biosphere, scientists created “avatars” that are operated by genetically matched humans. Jake Sully, a paraplegic former marine, was asked to be a replacement for his deceased twin and he agreed. In his Avatar form, he was rescued by Neytiri, a female Na’vi. At the same time, the head of RDA’s private security force promised Jake that they will recover his walking ability in exchange of the information about the Na’vi. Jake is soon torn between siding for the security force or for the Na’vi as he starts to have sympathy and bonds with the natives.

Why this movie rocks:

This movie presents different elements and components that will cater to many people’s likings. The elements include the theme of love and relationship between family, friends, loyalty, spiritual goodness and nature. The elements of science also captivates the viewers with its futuristic elements which includes; aliens and extraterrestrials, spaceships, robots, futuristic technology, and journey through a different universe. The movie gives the viewers an insight of the effort taken to explore a new planet for the benefits of the human race and simultaneously conveys the message that the actions were a recipe for disaster to mother nature.

Best scene:

The best scene for us is none other than Jake’s first experience as his Avatar. Jake is paralysed from the lower half of his body, thus he lost the ability to walk. His longing to run and escape from his wheelchair becomes evident as he jumps up from the laboratory and bursts outside into the

pandora to fully experience his freedom. It is difficult for us to imagine the adrenaline that was taking over him when he had his first experience of being a Na’vi, not only that but the ability to have control over his legs again. Jake was so focused on exploring about after being told not to and his rebellious mentality during the scene is relatable to teens like us (sometimes). source: Costumei, http://costumei.com/avatar-costumes

source: Film Book, http://film-book.com/the-scorch-trials-2015-maze-runner-sequel-greenlit-concept-art/

Brief synopsis:

After being rescued from the maze, Thomas and the remaining Gladers are taken into a facility run by Mr Janson. The facility is said to protect them from WCKD and provide shelter for them as well as other survivors from multiple mazes. However, Thomas, with the help of Aris Jones, discovers the ugly truth about Janson’s objective. It is revealed that WCKD’s leader Ava is still alive and together with Janson is under-going an experiment on the immunes. The group escapes the facility in order to find The Right Arm, where they find themselves in the deserted outside world known as - the Scorch.

Why this movie rocks:

The plot differs from the first movie entirely as it become a whole other story but still pertains the main intention of WCKD. With the addition of the Cranks which was a big transition from the Maze, the story soon took a darker turn. However, that did not stop the producers from sneaking a few humorous parts in the movie, making it less intense and giving the viewers a chance to relax from the gruesome parts.

Best Scene:

After escaping from the WCKD facility, the group ended up in an abandoned marketplace. That was when they first encountered the Cranks, humans that are infected by the flare virus. As they are fast-moving, their actions turn out to be sudden and often violent. Fear, tension and panic builds up as their chance of escape limits through the amount of Cranks that surrounded them. Escaping without getting infected was merely impossible.

Source: Online Movies, http://onlinemovies.pro/transformers-dark-of-the-moon-2011-hd/

Brief synopsis:

Sam Witwicky and his new girlfriend, Carly, join the brawl when the shrewdness Decepticons reestablish their longstanding war against the Autobots. Optimus Prime trusts that reviving antiquated Transformer Sentinel Prime, once the pioneer of the Autobots, may prompt triumph. That choice, in any case, has annihilating results; the war seems to tip for the Decepticons, prompting a climactic fight in Chicago.

Why this movie rocks:

The Transformers are incorporated into the genuine footage to make a convincing activity grouping. On the bigger shots, even small Transformers far out of sight look persuading. The entire scene with the collapsing building and the following shot of Optimus cutting and crushing his way through a group of Decepticons are monster works of art. This is likely one of the best 3D motion pictures to date. One noteworthy investigation of 3D is that 3D glasses make the film darker, however here they do an exceptionally savvy decision as the film itself is brighter than a normal motion picture and this issue levels itself out.

Best scene:

The remarkable fight scene in the middle of Megatron and Optimus towards the end of Dark of the Moon leaves Transformer fans all over the place thinking about whether Megatron will come back from the dead once again. Nevertheless, Optimus figured out how to slaughter Megatron in a couple of ruinous swipes and leaves a folded Megatron afterward.

Brief Synopsis:

Twelve months after safely arriving home from their victory in the 74th Annual Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) soon discover that they would begin a Victor's Tour, where they would pay a visit to all the districts. Katniss finds herself under President Snow’s (Donald Sutherland) watchful eyes to prove that her and Peeta’s double win was due to their undying love for each other. That was only the start to Snow’s plan as for the Quarter Quell begins, Katniss life will be in more danger than ever.

Why this movie rocks:

As a movie that is based of a book, Hunger Games has given readers a great impression as the movie had done justice to the book. Viewers will soon developed a relationship with the characters, attached to them so easily as they become intrigued in the story. The plot is truly different, with its originality that other movies caught on later. Not always do we get good sequels; however, Catching Fire has made big improvements from its camera shots and attention gripping scenes, making it more entertaining for action-adventure movie lovers.

Best Scene:

The beginning of the Quarter Quell, when the tributes from different districts jumped off their platforms. Katniss was in great grieve as she witnessed her beloved friend, Cinna, die before the game but as soon as the game began her sorrow turned into anger. This particular scene puts viewers in suspense with the fast changing emotion in a short period of time. Its cinematography allows viewers to get a clear idea of the surrounding emotion. Viewers are able to experience the adrenaline, terror, and confusion of the Hunger Games victors. Also, the cinematography captures Katniss’ panic in the waters as she fights her way to retrieve the weapons, creating a sense of climax of the scene. This scene keeps the viewers at the edge of their seats with its fast moving scene cuts and keeps viewers wondering who will manage to survive. It arouses curiosity of who Katniss should trust in order to survive the game.

Source: BlackFilm, http://www.blackfilm.com/read/2014/05/new-poster-and-images-for-guardians-of-the-galaxy/

Brief synopsis:

In 1988, on Earth, a boy, Peter Quill is abducted by a spacecraft. After discovering a mysterious orb, he was a target of a manhunt led by the villain named Ronan The Accuser. To evade Ronan and his team, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with four disparate misfits; a gun-toting Rocket Raccoon, treelike-humanoid Groot, enigmatic Gamora, and vengeance-driven Drax the Destroyer. Quill named his team the “Guardians of the Galaxy”. Soon, he discovers the orb's true power and he became determined to save the world. Quill and his teammates were off to defeat their enemy, Ronan.

Why this movie rocks:

Based on the technical level, it’s astonishing, with World of Tomorrow cityscapes and pop-flavored 3-D imagery that demand to be seen on a big screen. On a storytelling level, it’s a back-to-the-future flashback to the misfit crew of the Millennium Falcon, with a ’70s soundtrack transporting us to a mall plex far, far away. Furthermore, the gadgetry and fight scenes are nicely rendered.

Best scene:

In a daring prison escape scene, Rocket has a plan that involves the band of misfits – Drax, Quill, Gamora, Rocket and Groot – to each perform an essential task to complete their escape. Quill is imparted with the most important task of them all - acquiring the prosthetic leg of a fellow inmate. As the exciting scene plays out with the prison in full riot and action abound, the quintet eventually meets in the command center. Peter presents Rocket the leg, he simply laughs and shrugs it off saying he didn’t need it, he was just messing with Peter for laughs – to make him feel useful. This sick sense of humor involving crippled people is later again attempted by Rocket when the gang teams up with Yondu and his men as they prepare to take on Ronan. Even in the most down and out situations, Rocket finds a reason to laugh.

Brief synopsis:

The events of Loki's strike on New York City has left Tony Stark a completely changed man. In no time saddled with a genuine example of a dozing and post traumatic tension issue, Tony spends his anxious night times the primary way he knows how - considering new models for the Iron Man suit. Regardless, new events had emerged and that requires Tony to suit up again. A pathetic crazy person alluded to pretty much as the Mandarin has sorted out a horrendous strike on the Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, and is seeking Tony.

Why this movie rocks:

Iron Man 3 is an incredible motion picture with a solid script, story and character advancement. The assault on Tony Stark's Malibu Mansion is stunning as the impacts and the setting of the circumstance made it incredible. It was a fantastically intense scene, particularly during Tony's demonstration of benevolent courage in putting the suit around Pepper and sparing her first. Another reason why the movie rocks is because of the advance technology and science theories shown in the movie.

Best scene:

The skydiving rescue scene where the President was grabbed from Air Force One by a villain camouflaged as Iron Patriot and whatever remains of the team are left to tumble to their demise. The scene is a blow out of left-right-and-focus activity where Iron Man is compelled to be sly and figure out how to spare everybody with the clock ticking quick. No measure of capability will spare him, thus Stark structures a human chain of sorts depending on his own capacities, as well as on the fortitude of the falling "conventional" individuals as well. He conveys the President's team to wellbeing, dropping them tenderly in the water to an animating ensemble of appreciative cheers, just for us to find that assuaged Tony was working his Iron Man securely and remotely. While the computer-generated imagery (CGI) may be somewhat dodgy, the whole fragment is cut for greatest impact, with pictures of guiltless bodies in defenseless free-fall a genuinely frightening sight.

Source: Ultimate3DMovies, http://ultimate3dmovies.blogspot.my/2012/03/avengers-special-individual-character.html

Brief Synopsis:

S.H.I.E.L.D. has located the mysterious Tesseract and the Army's super soldier Captain America. The Tesseract is a gateway to an entirely new world called Asgard where a mysterious individual known as Loki arrives on Earth to rule all human beings. However, Loki escapes with the Tesseract, as an act of war against Earth. That began the creation in assembly of superhuman beings -The Avengers. With Hulk, Tony Stark, Captain America, Thor and the masters of assassin Hawkeye and Natasha Romanoff, a team is formed. Together they will become as one that will call them to become the greatest of all time.

Why this movie rocks:

The best thing about the movie Avengers is how the heroes from different movies are being put into a single movie. The backstories for each of the characters had already been established in their previous solo movies. Despite being an adventurous movie, the dialogues of the movie are humorous, and that made the movie more enjoyable. Furthermore, this movie also has high special visual effects especially in the scene where S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier lifts itself from the waters. Overall, the movie is awesome and it has a good balance between the story, dialogue and visuals.

Best Scene:

The best fighting scene in the movie was Hulk vs Loki. In this scene, Loki’s ego got the better of him as he tried to shout at Hulk, but it did not work. Hulk raged and grabbed Loki, tossing him round like a rag doll. The look on Loki’s face as well as his feeble little whimper after being beaten, with Hulk muttering “puny god” was an awesome finish! It’s just a shame that Loki’s been beaten by Hulk even though it’s a scene that’s mainly for laughs to show that he is such a consummate villain. Nevertheless, this is the best scene.

Brief Synopsis:

Dominic and his crew thought they have left the criminal mercenary life behind. They defeated the international terrorist Owen Shaw and went on their separate ways. But now, Shaw's brother, Deckard Shaw, is out killing the crew one by one for revenge. Worse, a Somalian terrorist called Jakarde and a shady government official called "Mr. Nobody" are both competing to steal a computer terrorism program called the "God's Eye," that can turn any technological device into a weapon. Torretto must reconvene with his team to stop Shaw and retrieve the God's Eye program while caught in a power struggle between the terrorist and the United States government.

Why this movie rocks:

Even after the unexpected death of one of the main actors, Paul Walker, the movie team still did well in executing the movie even after the loss. Most of the audience watched it for the memorial of Walker and it was a tear jerker moment when the movie ended with the popular song, “see you again” by Charlie Puth. This movie have exposed the most vulnerability within a human in comparison to the other sequels.

Best Scene:

One of the best action scenes in the whole movie is the Azerbaijani chase which begins in a style where the team parachutes out of the plane with them being seated in cars. It’s stylishly filmed and utterly crazy. Towards the near end of Azerbaijani chase, Dom and Ramsey (Nathalie Emnanuel) find themselves cornered by Mose Jakande’s (Djimon Hounsou) men with no escape. Soon, Dom tells Ramsey to put on the helmet as he drove the car off the cliff edge while Jakende’s men fired at them. Thanks to the armoured design of the vehicle, both of them escaped unhurt.

Source: Canberramummy, http://www.canberramummy.com/divergent-book-review/

Brief synopsis:

In futuristic Chicago, the youthful population are separated into different factions where they are well suited to the individual. These distinguishing factions are Dauntless (The Fearless), Amity (The peacekeepers), Abnegation (The selfless), Erudite (The intellectual) and Candor (The Truthful). The rest that does not fit in any of the faction became Factionless. However, Tris Prior discovers that she is a Divergent but it has to be concealed as the society does not value the existence of Divergents.

Why this movie rocks:

The characters portrayed in this movie are really strong even with the traumatising upbringing and the factor of abusive parents that have shaped who they are today. For example, Beatrice has to do her best in order to stay in Dauntless and with that we get to experience the bravery and terror that lies within her. Because Beatrice is divergent, we get to see how her thoughts differs from the others. In a way, the movie taught us to be humble despite our potential in any aspect as for Beatrice, her extraordinary ability was a curse to her.

Best scene:

The most memorable part of the movie is no doubt the act where Beatrice (The first who volunteered) had to jump for her first initiation task from the roof of a seven story building to the headquarters of Dauntless. Although wearing her Abnegation cloth, she proved her courage and valiant self to the respected leaders, gaining much respect from her fellow initiates.

Source: GigaFilm, http://www.giga.de/filme/jurassic-park-4-jurassic-world/news/jurassic-world-gigantischer-neuer-trailer-zum-dino-abenteuer/

Brief synopsis:

Jurassic World is an amusement park and a habitat for genetically engineered dinosaurs. Siblings Zach and Gray are sent to Jurassic World to visit their close relative, Claire, the recreation center's operations chief. During their stay, a highly intelligent genetically modified killing machine - the Indominus‍ rex, escaped from its habitat leaving everyone on the island in grave danger. Owen and Claire set out on a mission to rescue the siblings as they are stranded in a dangerous environment. At the same time, Owen and his team have to figure out a way to execute the I-Rex.

Why this movie rocks:

This movie is a big transition from the previous Jurassic Park movies as it displays futuristic elements to show the advancement of technology after over two decades from the events of Jurassic Park. We get to experience the upbringing of ancient species being used in a future project. One of the example is Indominus Rex, the hybrid of the dinosaur that can managed to avoid it temperature being picked up by the thermal camera, other than that, it also smart enough to claw out it tracker implant that in its body.

Best scene:

We think that the best scenes lies in the ending of the movie. The fact the the dinosaurs could communicate amongst each other creates a new sense of perspective that dinosaurs are just like any other animals. Besides, the ending where the Raptors communicate and sided with the human to fight against the I-Rex was an unexpected scene. Despite the Raptor being violent in nature, it is still grateful to its owner. Last but not least, is the scene when the genetically modified I-Rex was killed. The Mosasaurus gives us a sense of victory and satisfaction after the long battle between the T-Rex, Raptors and the I-Rex.

-End-
